St. Timothy and St. Titus Feast Day Prayer

Morning prayer in the Divine Office has been a great way to start off my day. Today's proper antiphon for the Canticle of Zechariah set me straight this morning and struck a solid poke to the tepid hearth of my heart.

"Proclaim the message, insist on it in season and out of season, refute
falsehood, correct error, call to obedience, but do all with patience and sound
doctrine."

The passage comes from 2 Timothy 4:2, and it truly ignites a fire in my heart to share the Lord. Yet, the simple counsel of patience seems to mean that in sharing God, I must allow Him to work. Then the light within me would emanate as warm, soft, and inviting. I should avoid seeking control that would direct a blaring light to others so that they would have to turn away.

Practically speaking, I need help. I have confidence that God will direct me through my vocation as a husband and father and that's where I should focus my efforts. From my "home" base, I hope to continue moving outward while not neglecting those who are closest to me.

Sounds good. I have a lot of work to do. Any suggestions?
